The Learning and Teaching Enhancement Centre (LTEC) leads the development of educational practice across Kingston University.
We support the University's corporate mission to ‘enhance students' life chances' by supporting, celebrating and sharing excellence in learning and teaching, embedding student-focused and inclusive teaching practice across our institution. We support others to learn and develop their practice, whilst we ourselves learn through teaching, scholarship, research and professional practice.
This programme is aimed at experienced staff who wish to achieve professional recognition as a teacher in the higher education sector via the experiential route.
This is a programme designed for new academic and non-academic members of staff, who wish to gain a better understanding on how to support students in the learning process.
LTEC values the effective and appropriate use of technologies in learning, teaching and assessment, ensuring an excellent technology-mediated learning experience for all our students.
Enterprise Education encourages students to develop skills for innovation, and the can-do attitudes that will help them to thrive personally and professionally, expanding options for graduate outcomes.
LTEC oversees annual events such as the Festival of Learning, as well as learning and teaching awards such as the Provost's Award and the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme, which enable staff from across the University to showcase their excellent practice.
LTEC delivers a range of activities to support high quality learning, teaching and academic support, including the Course Leaders Programme, the Peer Supported Learning and Teaching Scheme and a broad range of professional development which enhances academic practice.
LTEC supports curriculum development and enhancement by collaborating with course teams to improve the content and delivery of their courses. We facilitate an inclusive approach encouraging co-creation between staff and students.
This is a framework which supports our staff in developing inclusive curricula from concept to review, embedding diversity and inclusion in order to ensure equality opportunity and to address degree awarding gaps.
The Learning Teaching Enhancement Centre (LTEC) comprise three teams: Academic Staff Development, Enterprise Education and Technology Enhanced Learning. Each team works closely together to support staff at Kingston to provide the best educational experiences for our students.
