Upon starting at Kingston University you will automatically be invited to one of our 'welcome to Kingston' events. These interactive sessions offer you the opportunity to understand the University better and meet other new staff.
Topics covered include:
Our staff are the most important resource we have. We want you to be continual learners and so our performance and development appraisal scheme means every member of staff will have a personal development plan. To help you fulfil your potential, the University provides a range of central training programmes, as well as locally managed development funds.
If you want to add to your qualifications, there is a staff sponsorship scheme helping towards fees for further study at the University. The scheme is open annually, and successful applicants can receive tax-free funding for up to three years.
If you're a member of a professional body, we'll pay up to £150 toward the costs of your annual subscription.
Whilst contributing to the establishment of higher education studies as a discipline in its own right, the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Centre (LTEC) supports staff in achieving the highest level of professionalism and scholarship at all stages of their career. This include:
Our staff and students are active in the local community, offering 3,500 hours of service to good causes each year through our award-winning volunteering scheme.
We also have an extensive school visiting programme, offering educational support and encouraging local children to aim for university, particularly those whose family have no previous experience of higher education.
