Centre for Economic Research and Intelligence (CERI)

What is CERI?

CERI provides analytical and spatial solutions for anyone involved in development activities. It draws together a multi-disciplinary team of experts from across Kingston University to work on a wide range of projects. It also works with a number of external partners.

What are its aims?

CERI aims to:

• enhance operational and strategic decision making in both public, private and third sector agencies. CERI contributes by providing a strategic overview of sub-regional and regional development issues, primary research and policy intelligence.
• promote partnership and community engagement. CERI acts as a bridge between Kingston University and its surrounding communities: managing partnership links and contributing, as part of the University's corporate responsibility, to the future of the region.

Who is it for?

Policy makers, practitioners, statutory organisations, voluntary organisations, educational institutions and the private sector.

What services does it provide?

CERI offers the following services for business:

• Policy evaluation, impact assessments, action research and user-engaged research
  We can provide clients with quality control assessments and benchmarked analysis of their activities.

• Infrastructure evaluation
  The evaluation might look at transport, planning, housing or offices, for example. It allows clients to understand the impact of their investment strategies in relation to other development activities and within a policy environment.

• Interrogation of regional and local development strategies
  We can help clients to understand the implications of their actions and modify their interventions for maximum benefits.

• Analysis of workforce development, labour market trends and equality/diversity issues

• Geographical information systems advice, delivery, mapping and interpretation
  We can help clients to improve their market position, product or service delivery and make best use of resources.

• Data analysis, database management, statistical analysis and development projections
  This offers clients the ability to define their own analysis or undertake evidence-based policy decisions.
