As the Assistant Dean in the faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment (ECE) at Kingston University, I am responsible for overseeing the strategic development and implementation of the School of Computing & Mathematics, School of Engineering, and the School of Built Environment & Geography. I am also KU academic project lead for Leadership & Development as part of the People stream in our Kingston University, Town House strategy. In these roles innovation and learning are core.
I have been Head of the Design School in Kingston's faculty of KSA for nearly 5 years before joining ECE, facilitating leadership and design innovation in a vibrant school management group that shares ideas, a clear financial model and a creative community. We thrive on exciting projects engaging industry, research, and student partners. Through these, the school continues to enjoy national/international awards, and impactful knowledge exchange initiatives, and explore our subject disciplines fostering collaborative practices.
I continue to deliver impactful educational programs, with, at their core, a design approach enabling creativity, inter-disciplinary excellence and knowledge exchange setting up new opportunities for our future. My doctoral research in the School of Design at the RCA focuses on the application of design principles applied to interdisciplinary learning models within the computing and engineering industry. Specifically, my research explores the intersection of cybernetics and organisational theory to develop systemic learning practices that accelerate innovation. Through this work, I continue to challenge and address questions enabling the co-construction of insights that expedite transformative knowledge exchange.
