I joined the midwifery department at Kingston University as a senior lecturer in 2016. I am currently the Course leader for pre registration Midwifery Courses and lead on the Bodies and Birth Midwifery Modules. I am also involved within the Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA) Module and take on the PMA role for students and staff within the department. I initially qualified as a nurse in 2003 and then undertook my masters degree shortly after in 2004. I later completed my Midwifery training and have been a practising midwife since in various roles within the NHS. My roles have included clinical governance support midwife, practice development midwife and delivery suite coordinator.
