I am Associate Professor for Children's Nursing and a Registered Nurse Teacher. I have worked in the Higher Education sector for over 12 years planning, delivering and evaluating programmes of learning for pre and post registration nursing students. Previous roles include Senior Lecturer, Strategic Lead for Education at Shooting Star Children's Hospice, Practice Educator at the Louis Dundas Centre for Paediatric Palliative Care at Great Ormond Street Hospital and Clinical Nurse Specialist (Cystic Fibrosis)
I have an extensive range of clinical and educational experience caring for children and young people with long-term and life-limiting conditions and their families across hospital, community and hospice settings. I am passionate about making a positive impact to the student experience in the university and in practice and am making a positive impact in children's palliative care through effective education. I am also Trustee at Rainbow Trust Children's Charity. My research interests focus around the experiences of 3rd year students; supporting them in managing the transition from nursing student to Newly Qualified Nurse and seeking employment.
