I am a Lecturer in Construction Law with over 30 years of international industrial experience. Throughout my career, I have involved in both contentious and non-contentious matters, offering sustainable solutions for various commercial contracts and other legal matters. My industrial experience includes managing construction projects across diverse sectors, such as real estate and hospitality developments, engineering and infrastructure development, oil & gas, manufacturing and retail. In addition, I have actively participated in several arbitration and mediation proceedings based in Dubai (UAE), Abu Dhabi (UAE), Baltimore (USA), and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
I am a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), UK and the Member of the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (MAIADR), reflecting my commitment to the field of dispute resolution.
My academic focus is primarily on the legal framework governing the construction industry, particularly on the administration of commercial contracts, conflict avoidance in relation to risk management, dispute resolution and procedures, management of claims (time and quantum), and the implication of tortious liability in a professional role.
In 2004, I had the honour of assisting Professor Dr. Surya P. Subedi, OBE, KC, DCL, in publishing his work titled ‘International Watercourses Law for the 21st Century: The Case of River Ganges Basin' (2005), reflecting my commitment to contributing to the academic discourse on various legal issues.
