About

Helena is a Senior Lecturer in  Nursing Research at Kingston and the St George's University of London. She holds a PhD in Fundamentals and Practices of Management in Nursing, area of concentration Patient Safety and Quality, from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Also a Master Degree in Management of Health Services from Lisbon University Institute, Portugal and a Post-graduation in Critical Care from Unileya Faculty in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Also, she is an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy.

Helena has more than 22 years of experience as a nurse,  and has worked in different settings of acute care such as Surgical, Nephrology, Intensive Care, and also, has taught for about 10 years as a lecturer in three different countries: England, Brazil and Portugal.

Helena has a number of publications which includes articles, book chapters, poster presentations and guest speaker participation at International Conferences. Also grants awards that are listed below:
