Loyalty bursaries and alumni discount

If you are an international ('overseas fee' paying) student, you may qualify for one of our bursaries or alumni discounts:

Alumni discount

What: 10% tuition fee discount for our alumni who are progressing to study a postgraduate course at Kingston University, including postgraduate taught, postgraduate research, PGCE, and MArch in Architecture.

Who: all alumni (Home/EU and International) who have attained a bachelor's degree from Kingston University

How to apply

  • You do not need to complete a separate application form.
  • When completing a postgraduate application form, we will ask you to state your previous course at Kingston University and will then check your eligibility for the discount.
  • If you are eligible, the discount will be applied to your course fees invoice, or if you're paying in instalments, your final instalment will be reduced by the value of the discount. Please see the alumni discount webpages for more information.

Family bursary

What: 10% tuition fee discount for each year of undergraduate or postgraduate study

Who: International students (classified as 'overseas fee paying') who has a direct family connection (family is defined as sibling, parent, child or spouse) to a student enrolled at Kingston University ('current student') or to a student previously enrolled at Kingston University (alumni). Both family members are entitled to receive the bursary if they are studying at the same time.

How to apply

Eligible students can apply after they fully complete enrolment.

  1. Open online application form link on My Kingston (the student intranet): My Kingston > International students > International loyalty bursaries.
  2. Submit the online application form with evidence of your family connection: marriage certificate (spouse) or birth certificate (parent, sibling, child) plus family member's Kingston graduation certificate or ID number.
  3. If approved, your final tuition fee instalment will be reduced by the value of the discount (or refunded in the case of full tuition fee payment).

Deadline

For the academic year 2023/24 (including September 2023 and January 2024), you must submit your application by 15 May 2024. We will not accept applications past this date.

Study Abroad, Summer School and Exchange student bursary

What: 10% tuition fee discount for each year of undergraduate or postgraduate study

Who: International students (classified as 'overseas fee paying') who previously participated in a Study Abroad, International Summer School, or Exchange programme at Kingston University and are now returning to do a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree course. Please note that preparation courses, such as pre-sessional English or short courses, are not eligible (if you have taken a preparation course, you cannot use this to claim the bursary).

How to apply

Eligible students can apply after they fully complete enrolment.

  1. Download application form from My Kingston (the student intranet): My Kingston > International students > International loyalty bursaries
  2. Submit application form to International Office with academic transcript/certificate from your Kingston University Study Abroad, Exchange or International summer school programme.
  3. If approved, your final tuition fee instalment will be reduced by the value of the discount (or refunded in the case of full tuition fee payment).

Deadline

For the academic year 2022/23 (including September 2022, January 2023, and March 2023 intakes), you must submit your application by 15 May 2023. We will not accept applications past this date.

Terms and Conditions (Loyalty bursaries and Alumni discount)

  • The 10% Alumni discount applies to Home, EU and International fee status students.
  • The 10% Family and Study Abroad, Summer School Exchange bursary applies to International fee status students.
  • Final decisions on eligibility will be determined by the University.
  • The discount cannot be combined with any other alumni or loyalty discount offered by Kingston University, including faculty, department or school discounts that may be available.
  • If you do not provide appropriate evidence as part of your loyalty bursary application, you will not receive the discount.
  • Preparation courses (e.g. short courses and pre-sessional English courses) are not eligible for the 10% discount.
  • The 10% discount does not apply to any undergraduate or postgraduate placement year fees (the 10% discount is only applicable for 'taught' years of study).
  • The 10% Family bursary will only be applied to both family members if they are fully enrolled (‘current students') and studying at the same time. At the date of enrolment this criteria needs to be met and cannot be reviewed retrospectively.
