The University's halls of residence include some accommodation that is accessible or adapted for students with disabilities. Wherever possible, we will further adapt accommodation to meet individual's need.
Students with disabilities, who could not otherwise attend the University, will be given priority for a place in halls.
Each hall has different styles of adapted accommodation so we advise that you discuss your requirements with a disability adviser:
Students with disabilities who need accessible accommodation may be offered a place in halls for the duration of the course only if they require adapted accommodation to enable them to attend the University.
For more information about the halls of residence, please visit the Accommodation website. Detailed accessibility information and example photographs of adapted accommodation can also be found via AccessAble.
Most halls of residence are situated off campus at various locations in Kingston.
If you are studying at the Penrhyn Road, Knights Park or Roehampton Vale sites, you will have to travel to and from halls of residence, which are at varying distances from campuses. However, halls of residence are available on campus at the Kingston Hill site.
There is an accessible university bus service which runs between campuses, Kingston town centre and halls of residence.
It is important to alert the University to any special accommodation requirements as soon as possible, so that we can make adequate preparations before your arrival. Make sure that any specific requirements are indicated on your accommodation application form. Please contact us if you have not already done so.
Current students who wish to apply or re-apply for a place in halls because of a disability can do so before the end of the current academic year. The deadline will be advised on the student intranet, My Kingston.
