Dr Nevena Nancheva

About

I joined Kingston in 2015. My main remit has been taking care of undergraduates, teaching at all levels and discharging the duties of level tutor. I enjoy teaching and I am keen to develop my pedagogy. I am recognised Fellow of the HEA.

I am a Migration Studies scholar. My recent research has explored European migration, with a focus on EU migrants in the UK around Brexit. I also lead a project on the role of the ethnic food shop in community inclusion and business recovery. I have previously studied the governance of national minorities, forced migration, and the articulation and experience of difference in Europe and beyond.

My research has been funded by the British Academy, the Leverhulme Trust, the Regional Studies Association, the Mayor of London, as well as by Kingston's own Centre for Research on Communities, Identity and Difference.

I have supervised doctoral candidates to successful completion and I am keen to take on interesting new projects.
