I am an educator with experience of working in community and university education, having run workshops and given talks around the UK since 2014. I am currently a lecturer on the BA Illustration Animation Level 4. Previously I ran the educational arts programme at Topolski Studio, including the Chronicle Reportage Residency from 2016 to 2019. My research interest focusses on drawing pedagogy and co-creation, using an intersectional lens for wider explorations into drawing technique.
My practise uses documentary drawing to capture events, people and locations. These projects are collaborative, often engaging communities outside of a traditional arts space. Through the lens of reportage my work examines a wide range of subjects and experiences. As part of the LGBTQ+ community, my work often explores themes related to sexuality and gender, highlighting narratives which are often overlooked. I have also applied my practice to small press, soundtracks, music, film and printmaking.
My work has been seen in many niche corners - a beach hut in Herne Bay, an empty shop in Hartlepool, Walk-It Talk-It for South London Gallery, The National Centre for the Written Word, Wetherspoon News, in the Peter Strickland film In Fabric and on a Polish TV channel during Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.
