About

I have taught at Kingston School of Art since 2010 and now run Undergraduate Studio 3.6 with Kate Nicklin, also a colleague in practice at 31/44 Architects, where I am a director. Our practice, established in 2010, is based in London and Amsterdam.

Our studio is closely aligned with the working methods of our practice, a practice that teaches, teaching how we practise. As architects we consider our foremost role is for each project to be a responsible piece of city. We are unworried that some projects could be seen to be part of the background of the city. Perhaps the most successful are those where the building can move between foreground and background – potentially only revealing its intentions on closer inspection. e strive for an architecture that can be understood as contemporary, but which is closely woven into the history, pattern, texture and character of the context.

The buildings of the practice have received a number of awards and published in journals and books.
