I am Course Leader for the MA in Art Business programme, which is co-delivered between the Kingston School of Art (Creative Industries) and Kinston Business School. I am an active art market professional and former auction house executive with nearly 20 years of experience in the commercial art sector, having worked across all three major areas of the industry: advisory, gallery and auction.
As of November 2022, I am a Senior Lecturer in Market Intelligence at Kingston Business School. My work at the Business School focuses on the intersection between creativity & art and the wider business world, and the effects which operating in highly disruptive industries (art world) can have on business practices and behaviour.
My academic interests lie in emerging (art) markets and market intelligence, and the place of female artists in the commercial art market. My MA thesis was on the Emerging Art Market in Croatia, awarded by Sotheby's Institute of Art / University of Manchester. My professional practice is focused on operating within the highly specialised Contemporary art market and helping clients navigate industries which can appear impenetrable from the outside, such as the commercial art world.
I am a trained Contemporary Art Specialist and I am passionate about art of the Post-War period, especially the avant-garde movements of 1950s and 1960s.
