Type of requests:
Right of access / Subject access request (SAR) – The right to ask an organisation whether or not they are using or storing your personal information and to ask for copies of your personal information.
Right to rectification – The right to request to have inaccurate personal data rectified, or completed if it is incomplete.
Right to erasure – This right is also known as “the right to be forgotten”. Individuals can make a request to have personal data erased. Please note, this is not an absolute right and we may have a justification to retain parts of your data e.g. if you have received an award from the University.
Right to restrict processing – The right to request the restriction or suppression of personal data. This is not an absolute right and only applies in certain circumstances. Restriction allows data to be stored without processing.
Right to object – The right to object to the processing of personal data. Only applies when the legal basis is legitimate or public interest; when the processing is for direct marketing; or the processing is for research or statistical purposes.
